Happy New Year! Also Christmas and Thanksgiving, and a few other holidays. Last time I updated the primaries weren't even over. Officially, anyway.

But they are now! Along with the general election, and then inauguration, and then three weeks after the inauguration.

I got a gray hair the other day.

Other than that, I updated a few pages here and there. Also I changed the Basement Men excerpts to the sixth draft versions. Apparently it takes a long time to edit a novel when you go months without doing anything.

I added stuff. I mean, a while ago. Just didn't update this thing. Apparently it's April. Last time I wrote, I'd been in New York all of two weeks. Now I've been here an entire gestation period, assuming we're talking about a prematurely-born crack baby.

Poor crack baby.

Anyway, I finished my damn book. I have written a novel. Kick. Ass. I put a few excerpts up a couple months ago, but they're from the first draft. I'm on the fourth now out of God knows how many.

Less importantly, I changed around the menus a bit. They look and work better.

The above pic, if it's still there, was taken directly outside my front door late one night, or maybe early one morning. It is exactly what it looks like.

I've been very seriously neglecting this site.

But now I'm in New York! The change in scenery, despite not necessarily having any effect on my amount of free time or motivation, gives me a new variable to use to promise changes in my behavior. Will it really work? Only time will tell. On the other hand, I am writing a lot more now.

I added a poem. Other than that, this update and the picture are the only new things.

I've added some things to the Writings section. I think from now on I'll leave this front page up as sort of a "recent updates" blog, though now that I think about it, that sounds kinda stupid in the long-term. But at least for now it'll work.

"Sometime soon" I'll add more Writings stuff, then things to the Letters and Rafi sections, and then I'll change the bar at the top. I really don't think I'm gonna put my news clips on this site. Maybe I'll make a Photos section in its place, except I don't have a digital camera so that obviously doesn't make sense.

At any rate, swimnaked.com is my new favorite website.
